Blog Rules

Since this blog contains information on the whereabouts of various animals, there is always the potential for misuse. After much consideration, I have decided to impose a number of rules that may well be unprecedented in the World of blogs! Here they are:

  • I reserve the right to withold posts that describe the location of species that are highly sought after by the pet trade. This applies primarily to reptiles and some frogs, but other species may be considered.
  • I also reserve the right to withold posts that relate to key roost sites, breeding sites or locations of rare and endangered species, where intrusion by camera-weilding (and often well-intending) humans may jeopardise the survival of these species. So this would apply to some bat caves, for example.
  • Most countries have laws that prohibit the capture of native wildlife, and so I will also withold posts that require the capture of animals or imply capture in the process of photography. In any case, images of animals in nature are so much more appealing, that I would also discourage these types of images on the basis of aesthetics!!!
  • In all of these cases I will contact the contributor to discuss the particular situation further, and some posts may be allowed following further clarification.

In order to apply these rules I will have to review each post before it appears. So there will be a delay! It may be a day or so, or if I am away on a trip somewhere, it may take a little longer. Please be patient! I have to manage the posts this way, as I am sure you will appreciate.

If you see any posts on this site that may violate any of the above rules and I have approved them through ignorance of local circumstances or the status of the species etc, please contact me and I will remove it from the site!!!!
